Coro Welcomes Katherine Young, Fellows Program Manager

Coro Pittsburgh is excited to Welcome Katherine Young to the Coro family as the Fellows Program Manager. Lynne Ventress, our former Director of Fellowships has started graduate school at Heinz College.  Lynne will continue training the Fellows Program in a part-time capacity, while Katherine will be managing the Fellows Program in Public Affairs.

We are very excited for both Lynne and Katherine, and look forward to working with this great new class of Fellows!

Katherine Young Bio: Katherine Young joins the Coro Staff as the Program Manager for the Fellows Program in Public Affairs.  Ms. Young has worked in program outreach for workforce development at the Mon Valley Unemployed Committee and Coro Pittsburgh’s program, the Regional Internship Center.  In these positions, Ms. Young has worked to empower individuals and groups of people by making available opportunities for these groups to develop professionally. 

Her dedication to Public Affairs has been inspired by the initiatives of community based organizations and community development corporations to transform Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.  As a participant in the Public Allies Pittsburgh Program (2008-2010), Ms. Young has helped build the capacity of nonprofits that support community driven initiatives, such as, the Sprout Fund, Lawrenceville Corporation, and the Union Project.  

 To continue her involvement, Ms. Young is an active Advisory Board member of the of the Sprout Fund’s Public Art Program and Public Allies Pittsburgh.
